More than lodging a customs entry

Customs clearance is not simply entering figures into a system. Before an entry can be lodged, we may spend hours reviewing invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, permits and other shipping documents. We also answer emails, speak with customers and explain New Zealand Customs and Ministry for Primary Industries requirements in plain English.

We do not demand a cash deposit simply to listen to a customer, understand the shipment and provide initial guidance. We first try to identify what is required, what may be missing and what could delay clearance.

Support with GST, duty and Customs issues

Import GST and customs duty can become complicated, particularly when the customs value, freight, insurance, tariff classification, concessions or importer details require further review. When a GST or duty issue arises, our customers are not left alone to work it out.

We explain the issue, identify the documents needed and assist with the next practical step. If New Zealand Customs or MPI requests further information, an inspection or treatment, we stay involved and help the customer understand what is happening.

We do not walk away after clearance

Some problems only become clear after an import entry has been lodged. There may be a Customs query, an MPI direction, an unexpected tax calculation or a document that needs correction. Our approach is simple: we do not isolate the customer or walk away because the straightforward part of the job has finished.
